Principal's Corner

Welcome Back!

I would like to welcome all of you to Smiths Station High School. I want each of you to know how honored I am to serve as your Principal. As a school community, we made a lot of progress during the 2008-2009 school year, but we still have many things that we can improve upon. We will continue working toward that goal as a school community beginning August 10, 2009. There have been many changes over the Summer, but our Administration, Faculty, and Staff remain committed to providing each of you a high quality education that is both rigorous and relevant. The high quality education that our students receive will take place in a safe and orderly environment. It is our desire that each of our students excels in our academic programs.

Clear expectations are vital to the success of our school. Our recurring theme will be having PRIDE in everything that we do. We will be the BEST that we can be and we will do so in a manner that best represents Smiths Station High School, ourselves, our families, our community, and the Lee County Board of Education. I want to encourage our students to set high academic standards for themselves and challenge each student to do the following:

1.      BE RESPECTFUL

2.      BE RESPONSIBLE

3.      BE RESOURCEFUL

This year, as a school community, we are going to focus on the three (3) C's that will help enable us to become a GREAT learning organization:

1.    COMMUNITY

2.     CONSISTENCY

3.     COMMITMENT

I look forward to this school year with much excitement and anticipation. The Administration and Faculty of Smiths Station High School are proud of this educational organization and are committed to its mission of developing lifelong learners.

PANTHER PRIDE!
