Mr. Lewis joined Smiths Station High School in July 2016. Prior to joining Smiths Station High School, Lewis served as the assistant principal of Central Middle School in Coosa County, Alabama. He has over 12 years of teaching experience as he taught fifth grade at Westview Elementary School in Phenix City, Alabama. Before entering the field of education, he served eight years in the United States Army as a water treatment specialist.
Mr. Lewis believes that all children can learn but each learns in a different way and at different rates. He believes that with hard work and perseverance we can touch each child in a special way. Keeping the atmosphere positive is the key to success as well as keeping the lines of communication open among staff, students, and parents. Mr. Lewis feels that teamwork is the ultimate way a school can be successful in reaching the goal of helping a child attain his or her full potential.
